May 2015 Meeting & Announcements

Things are starting to heat up in Phoenix, but we wont let that stop us! Join us at 7:00pm on May 27th, 2015 at Brickyard Artisan Court in Tempe! Note that this month the meeting is being held in room BYAC 110.

Let’s Make Stuff Explode!

How can you make your next video game project really pop? Have you considered adding more explosions? Kyle Pulver claims to know a thing or two about making cool explosions for video games, and is going to show you his workflow for making stuff blow up. See a complete walkthrough of creating an explosion for a video game from scratch. His techniques will really give you the biggest bang for your buck!

kyle2015Kyle Pulver is a guy who makes games most of the time. While in high school he made awful, terrible games that nobody has ever heard of or played. Later on in life he started making better games that people actually wanted to play, such as Bonesaw: The Game, Verge, depict1, Snapshot, and Offspring Fling! In his day he’s won a TIGSource competition, secured first place in a Ludum Dare, was in the PAX10 two years in a row, and even was somehow nominated for an IGF award. Currently he spends his time working on short form games and prototypes that don’t stress him out, game jamming, and maintaining a C# 2d game making frame work named Otter.
